Can you recommend an adventure/trek company for Mexico/South America?
I’m thinking of heading to Mexico/South America in January (from the UK) for thee weeks with my girlfriend.
I’ve travelled/backpacked before but she hasn’t and is terrified by the prospect.
So I thought a guided tour/trek (like Trek America, or Oz Experience) would be a happy medium.
Can anyone recommend a company they have travelled with or heard good things about?
Can anyone recommend anywhere I should visit?!
Thanks all!

The Bamba Experience is a good way to get to know Mexico and Central America:

The Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Pass gives you the freedom to change you schedule any time. If you feel like you want two more days to explore a town, just tell the driver and he’ll pick you up two days later.
What cities, towns and ruins you visit depends on how many days you’ve allocated to the entire adventure. With just three weeks, I think you should just concentrate on Mexico. Starting in Cancun you could visit Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Coba, Chichen itza, Merida, Palenque and San Cristobal de las Casas.
But it’s your holiday, browse through the Bamba Experience website and see what excites you and your girlfriend.
ok dude, first of all… NO BACKPACKING in Mexico… just don’t do it, second, try to visit the state of Veracruz in Mexico.. We have everything in this state ranging from jungle like places to the oldest cities in Mexico, two big cities (I just cant describe how pretty they are, the city/port of veracruz is just.. you will stay here man… its a warm, colonial city full of movement, history, nature [Coffee!] but way richer than south/central america and it is way safer, same with Xalapa)do u like climbing/hiking? try the tallest mountain in Mexico (which is in the same state) the Orizaba peak…5000 meters tall (its taller than that but i don’t remember exactly how tall it is) hiking u said?? then try the Cofre de Perote mountain, the very top looks like a pirate’s chest from Xalapa…its Beautiful. like semideseric places? motocross? cold towns? go to perote… do u like warm places for tourists? lots of rivers and lagoons and all that stuff? try going further north to Nautla… and it is close to many important/nice Mexican cities… its like 3 hours away from Mexico city… even if u do not come here at least do some research.. you wont regret it! and do not listen to those yankees (or whoever) who have nothing good to say, they hate every single country in the world including themselves, all trying to adapt the world to them instead of adapting to the world…. but yeah, you should definitely visit VERACRUZ!
I’d recommend Oaxaca, has an extensive food culture and very typical of the region.
You can also find many pyramids and other things that will make you really see what is mexico.
Here I leave you more information about Oaxaca.
It is located south of the Mexican Republic, in the region of the Pacific Coast, whose geography includes extensive valleys and mountain ranges.
In this entity, which is particularly noted for its historical and cultural greatness, and that gives you the chance to visit towns and villages inhabited by about 16 indigenous ethnic groups still maintain their old ways, you can visit the city of Oaxaca, the state capital, a Colonial Cities with better urban design and architectural richer. There you can admire its baroque buildings, built in green stone, and visit major museums like the Museo de las Culturas de Oaxaca, housed in the former Convent of Santo Domingo, and enjoy their traditional holidays such as ” Radishes Night “and” Guelaguetza “.
In Oaxaca you can also visit many sites, among which, the Zapotec city of Monte Alban, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, and Mitla, whose major attraction is the ornamentation of its buildings which have frets. Nearby you can admire other natural attractions such as the Tule Tree, a sabino approximately 42 m in diameter, which exceeds the 2,000 years old; the Lagunas de Chacahua, ecological zone composed of a wide and lush mangrove and beach area and the beautiful bays of Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, where you can relax or play sports.
